Do you really need a website?
That’s a rhetorical question…if you’re in business then you know you need a website. E-commerce sales for the 3rd quarter of 2008 totaled over $34 billion which showed stability in a market that is in the steepest decline in history due to the current economic situation. Allentown, PA is no exception. Now more than ever businesses need to implement every possible tool at their disposal to succeed in this changing economic climate. Your website is an extension of your business. It is a silent salesman that greets your potential customers for you. It greets a vast number of prospects that might otherwise never have known you existed.
How Many Prospects Can We Afford to Overlook?
Another rhetorical question. Fact is that we cannot pass any potential customer by, especially today. A website done right sits at the busiest intersections on the net and waves at potential customers for you. Consider this:
A website never sleeps
A website never calls out sick
A website never takes a break
There are no other methods of advertising that are as inexpensive as a website; there is nothing as cost effective and cost efficient as a website. When you think about the cost of print advertising or direct mail it becomes very clear that a properly executed web presence is by far superior in terms of return on investment.
If Nobody Sees Your Website, What Good Is It?
Too many web designers don’t know website optimization and too many optimization companies don’t design websites. In an ideal situation, your web design company is also your optimization company.
The best websites are those that are built from the ground up with optimization considerations of the company that the site is about. Knowing the company, the products and the marketing objectives is critical in creating a web presence that actually works.
The keyword in a web project is relevance. Relevance is absolutely the most important element of the project if you want the search engines to show your website to a person that is searching for your product or service.
Who Better Than a Google Pro to Build Your Website?
There are only 340 Google Certified Adwords Professionals in the entire country, involved in a $30 billion a year industry; and 2 of them are at Cheepwebb.com. This is no small achievement because getting the Google seal of approval is NOT an easy task and the fraternity is a small one. And being located in the Allentown, PA area helps us to work on a personal level with you for improved success. This is important in your web design because being Google certified means, among other things, that we understand the importance of relevance in a web project. We understand how to rank your website and we also understand Google and how Google works. After all, would you call a carpenter to tune up your car?
So, What’s In It For You?
Really, the easiest part of a website project is actually building the site. It’s actually fun assembling the graphic components together, one by one, until you have a web page. It’s gratifying to see a project come together and, upon completion seeing it and standing back and realizing that we did that. We’re like any other type of artisan who gets a feeling of accomplishment from a beautiful job, done well. But that’s just the skin of something much larger. The cover of a book might be attractive but we all know that it’s the material between the covers that really make up the book. So, what’s in it for you? Below is a list of what we’ll include in your website:
Content. You, the customer, is responsible for the content (unless you hire us to develop the content). We’ll look at your content and evaluate what it takes to enrich that content for proper keyword density, relevant to that page. This will help Google and other search engines evaluate your relevancy according to searches for your product or service.
Relevant Titles for each page. Most websites on the internet don’t even have relevant titles but the titles are an integral part of the overall project. Titles show up as headlines when your website shows up in a search engine search result page. The page title has to be like a newspaper headline to attract attention.
Keywords. Keywords are carefully researched, even against your competitor’s keywords, for proper placement and density levels. Keywords ie.. ( Web Design, Web Design Company, Website Company) are how a search engine decides how relevant your website is to what it claims to be.
Individual page descriptions META tags. Like the titles, most websites are without carefully designed and worded descriptions. The descriptions follow the title in a search result and should deliver the proper message to the searcher if they are going to click onto your website. Again, relevance plays a major part in this and is part of the META tag standard.
Author META Tag. The author META tag declares who the author is and is part of the META tag standard.
Robots.txt file. When a search engine robot visits your website to index it into their system, they first look for a robots.txt file. This file gives the search engine robots instructions like what to index and how often to return. This is important because you can use this file to include as well as exclude who and what can index your site. Many websites don’t have robots instructions.
Image Titles. Images and pictures in your website should be named according to what they are and to the keyword selections of that particular page. This greatly supports your overall website’s relevancy. This is largely overlooked by many web designers but is a great way to boost relevancy.
Image Alt Tags. Used in the earlier days of the Internet when many browsers would replace images with text style alt tags so the sites would load faster, alt tags are used today to boost relevancy of a particular page. Alt tags are a text version of an image. You can see alt tags in use today by passing your pointer over a picture and seeing the words that pop up.
Sitemap. Many smaller sites don’t need a sitemap but we include them because the search engine robots look for them. Sitemaps make it easier for the robots to index your website.
Google Analytics Code. Being part of the Google Webmaster community, we will include our personal analytics code which enables us to track who visits your website and offer an array of data pertaining to your website.
Google Maps Submission. Again, as part of the Google Webmaster community, we will submit your website to Google maps. You might have seen these maps on searches you’ve done in the past where Google lists your place of business on their map with a stick pin. If included, it’s great exposure to the top of the search engine results page.
Google Local Business Inclusion. Google will call you to verify that you actually do own that business. You just give them the code that we provide for you and Google does the rest.
Submission to Top Search Engines. Upon completion of the website, we will manually submit your website to the top search engines and directories so that they can send their robots out to look at your website.
